Biography: Gerald A. Beathard, MD, PhD

Gerald A. Beathard, MD, PhD, joined RMS Lifeline in 2000 as Vice President Provider Development. He has been practicing medicine for 38 years and is widely regarded as the pioneer of Interventional Nephrology. Dr. Beathard received both his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Allergy and Clinical Immunology and Pathology. He was also a founding member and the first president of the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology. As the author of more than 75 articles about vascular access, he is a recognized leader in the field. Dr Beathard is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.
