Optimizing Access Care

Working with physicians, RMS Lifeline follows the National Kidney Foundation's K/DOQI clinical practice guidelines for dialysis vascular access and tracks patient care, providing reportable outcomes to the entire care team. Access care data, including costs, impact on clinical outcomes, hospital admissions (and days), and access patency, are measured to develop a continuous quality-improvement process that optimizes each patient's access care.

"Now that we have a dedicated
vascular access center, interruputions
during the day are less frequent.
We spend less time managing
urgent access issues and can be
more productive seeing patients."
